Legend has it that Red Hook's own Al Capone's favorite prohibition hooch was Templeton Rye. Though the recipe for the spirit was lost during the years following repeal, it was uncovered decades later and is now distilled in Templeton, Iowa. In one corner, Kermit Lynch Wine Merchants offering of Damien Dupeuble's 2010 vintage will be ready for sipping, while in the other corner, Louis/Dressner Imports will bring their Terres Dorees Beaujolais Nouveau to the ring for a flavor square-off.  This pair of producers was chosen because of their use of traditional wine making techniques such as hand harvesting, the use of indigenous yeasts and the absence of sulphur dioxide added to the fermentation process.  This is a rare opportunity to taste the first vintage of the season from two esteemed producers side by side.

The four Roses on Paul Jones, Jr's bourbon bottle is a symbol of love for a Southern belle who later became his wife. Fontezoppa's vineyards are located between 500 and 600 meters above sea level and benefit from the cool sea breeze. We could taste the Adriatic Sea in the wines- really! We will be pouring three different selections: Verdicchio di Matelica, Marche Rosso Blend and a 100% Sangiovese

Dolin makes the only AOC designation Vermouth on the market. Its elegance and finesse is perfect in cocktails or on its own. We'll be pouring their Dry, Blanc and Red vermouths.

Sample a Carmenere, an ancient grape that's considered the grand-daddy of all Bordeaux varietals. Once considered nearly extinct, it was found in Chile in the 70's. Also try Moulin de Gassac, a Languedoc blend from Mas du Gassac. They are masters at blending their local native varietals that beckon from the days of 8th-century monks.

Coopers Creek Vineyards, located in the heart of the Huapai and Kumeu wine region, practices time-honored growing traditions, using ancient varietals. We'll be featuring their Sauvignon Blanc and Arneis, a nearly extinct Italian grape varietal.

Meet Robin Robinson, Brand Ambassador for Compass Box, an artisanal whisky producer. He'll be pouring Peat Monster (just won best Vatted Malt in the world) & Asyla (recently featured in OUT Magazine as a great aperitif).  Compass Box produces a wide range of small batch whiskies, so expect a few surprises.
